Would you believe I'm still doing laundry? Grandma is home today so I'm working on hers. Then it's Madison's turn. Goodness... I really could spend all week doing the darn laundry...lol
As promised the new specials are up. And I'll have earrings, cell phone charms and 2 full sets for sale on Friday. If you'd like me to hold any of your purchases till then, I'm more than happy to combine shipping. Oh, and I'm free next week. If you'd like to place an order. I'm happy to take them. You can choose from anything in my galleries or the specials page. Just send me an email. ;)
Jordan has a baseball game today at 5:00 so we're not going bowling tonight. That's okay with me because we're not bowling that great anyway. Ha! The baseball carnival last Saturday was a lot of fun. The kids had a great time playing all the games. But I have to admit... I was a little disappointed when Madison won a goldfish. I know... I'm so bad. But they usually die within a day or two anyway- everyone knows that. Now why do they do that to the poor kids when they know the inevitable will happen? We've already buried the 2 they won from the last time the very next day and the tears running down their little faces when Dwayne covered them with dirt just broke my heart. I'm so glad that she got a coupon to pick up the fish at the pet store. The poor little fishy may not of even made it home because it was so hot that day. Now if only Madison would forget about claiming it. But I doubt she will... she never forgets about anything...lol
Well... I better get. The timer just went off on the drier. Darn it!...lol
Enjoy the rest of your week!

Happy Monday everyone! Now that I got some things done around the house. I have time to chat. Had to get the laundry started, dishes done, the house cleaned and grandma settled in after returning home from the Senior Center. I just realized I haven't talked about her in a while. She's doing great, although, she's getting a bit more confused these days. I know that has a lot to do with her Alzheimer's. Sometimes I'm not sure what she's talking about. I just listen and say, "Oh, really?" She'll be 90 this September. God love her! Can you imagine? Goodness... not me!...lol
Boy is it hot outside! It's 95 degrees and I'm wishing the pool was warm enough to take a dip. It's just too chilly to even attempt it today. Maybe if we have a really hot week, it'll be warm enough by the weekend. Ah, that would be so nice!!! I can only imagine what it's going to be like inside my studio tomorrow. I have an air conditioner but with the kiln running, too, it makes it even harder for my A/C to keep up, especially, when we hit the triple digits. I better get out there early because it can get pretty unbearable when it's hot.
We had a great time at the show yesterday. It was so much fun meeting people in person, a new thing for me. Got a lot of compliments on my beads, which was very nice. The grab bags I had for sale were a hot item. Everyone was having a great time picking through which ones they wanted. One lady bought 10 of them. Wow! And here I thought they wouldn't do so good. Unfortunately, attendance was low. I had a feeling it was and I got the same feedback from the other vendors, who do that show every year. I had time to mingle in between lulls, which was really nice. I chatted with a couple ladies from my bead group that I didn't know would be there. All in all it was a really nice day. I have several sets leftover from the show. Everyone was more interested in the grab bags than the sets I had for sale. Which is not such a bad thing since I was able to get rid of almost all of them. And that's fantastic news for you because that means... more for you! ;) I posted the first group of beads today. I'll do the next one Wednesday and then, I'll post the earrings and cell phone charms Friday. I'm so happy to finally have something new for you to look at. It's been pretty bare around here lately, hasn't it?
Have to get going now. It's almost time to leave for baseball practice. It's 2 hours long so I'm going to find some shade and read my book 'Marley & Me'. I'm really enjoying it. I just finished reading 'Losing It' by Valerie Bertinelli. That one was really good!
Have a lovely day and I'll see you Wednesday with more adorable beads. ;)

Happy Monday! So, how've you been? I've been very busy preparing for my upcoming show. So far, I have 20 bead sets, 13 pairs of earrings (did have 14 but I gave a pair to my girlfriend who fell in love with it ;), 7 cell phone charms and 7 drop focals. Hope to have another 10 sets made by the end of the week, plus whatever else I can squeeze in. Sure wish it could be more because it's a 7 hour show. Hope I don't sell out too quickly (not that it's a bad thing) but I'd feel silly sitting there halfway through the show with an empty table and everyone wondering... "So, where's the beads?" So get there early, if you plan on attending. Finally had professional business cards made. I've always printed my own, but there's no way that my little ink-jet printer would of been able to handle as many cards as I need to giveaway at the show. And I'm sure it would of cost a whole lot more just in ink alone to print them myself. Holly told me about Got Print. She had her cards printed there. And at $47.99 for 5,000 cards... you can't beat that! They're full color both sides; my name and website info on the front and a mini bead gallery on the back. They're super-cute! You'll all get one, maybe two, with your next bead order.
There's so much going on this week... Jordan has baseball practice this afternoon, a game Tuesday at 5:00, bowling Wednesday night, batting cages Thursday night, baseball practice Saturday morning and the baseball carnival is also on Saturday. All the parents had to volunteer an hour of their time to work the booth and I'll be there from 12:00 to 1:00. Our team is responsible for the big inflatable slide, it should be pretty easy. So glad it's not the rock climbing wall where you have to help everyone in & out of the harnesses. Then Sunday, I'm off to L.A. for the show. Whew! What a week it's going to be. Hope I survive...lol Keep your fingers crossed for me. ;)
Have a fantastic week!

Hi! Did you miss me? I missed you. ;) Just found out a few days ago that I've been accepted by The Bead Society of Los Angeles to participate in their bead bazaar on the 27th. Yahoo! I'm really excited about it and have been very busy making beads. Haven't had time to chat.... sorry about that. I'm going to be pretty quiet over the next week in order to prepare. I'll pop in when I can. ;)
Have a great week!
(April 7th, 2008)
Hello. ;) We had a wonderful weekend. I hope you did too. No matter how hard I try, I can't seem to stay away from beads...lol I didn't make any new ones, but Dwayne helped me go through over a 1000 orphans from the past year. We sorted them all by color and or theme, and put them into 52 grab bags for me to sell at the show. They're the ones that didn't make it into the sets that I had planned because they were too small, too big or too ugly (I thought) to be included. I even found a couple pairs I made into earrings. And couple really nice ones I made into cell phone charms. Yay! If I had any doubts about how many beads I'd have... I don't now. Wow... what a stash and I didn't even realize it. I'm so happy! ;)
The kids are on Spring Break this week and tomorrow is Madison's 5th birthday. I know. I can't believe it myself! It really does seem like yesterday. She's told us exactly what she wants to do tomorrow. Listen to this... she wants us to wake her up singing "Happy Birthday", get her a cake that has balloons on it, she wants a Barbie Doll House; one without a roof so she can reach her arms in and move Barbie around, Barbies, earrings, clothes, shoes and she wants us to take her to the beach. Ha! She's such a hoot. We are taking her to the beach tomorrow as a surprise. Shhh... don't tell. ;) Then we'll come home and have balloon cake and do presents. Sounds like fun!
There will be very little, if any, beads from me this week. Not sure if or when I'll have time to make some. So, if you don't hear from me again this week... we are out and about having a great time. ;)
Have a fantastic week!
(April 4th, 2008)
Happy Friday everyone! The new specials are up. Sorry it was late today. I had so many that it took me forever to set them up. Hope you find something you love. Thanks for taking a peek! ;)
We watched Sweeney Todd this morning. What a great movie! It was very bloody toward the end, but I really, really liked it. I love Johnny Depp and he was spectacular! And what a voice. Who knew? We saw No Country for Old Men a couple weeks ago and I have to say, Sweeney was so much better.
Weekend plans... cleaning up around the house and doing laundry, which I'm up to my eyeballs in. Goodness, I can never seem to get ahead in the department. Once I make my rounds with emptying their baskets, the first one is full again. It's a vicious circle, isn't it? The weather is wonderfully warm in the mid 70's. We have some steaks we're going to barbecue tonight and it'd be lovely to take a dip in the spa. Just what the doctor ordered after a very busy week. ;)
Have a great weekend!
(April 3rd, 2008)
The new freebie is up. Yay! ;)
I went with Holly this morning to downtown Los Angeles to pick up supplies for the show. I got findings and cases to show my beads in. They have the best prices in the jewelry district, so it was definitely worth the 45 minute drive. Now I just have to fill them all. Yeah, right!...lol I'm going to make earrings, cell phone charms and sets like I sell as my specials. And maybe if I have time, some bracelets. This really was a last minute decision. They talked about it at our bead meeting the weekend before last and Holly really wanted to do it so I volunteered to do it with her. But now I'm thinking.... What did I get myself into? Ha! I keep telling myself not to get too stressed out. I can only do the best I can and I'll just have to be happy with whatever number of sets I come up with. ;)
Jordan has batting cages tonight at 6:00. We got Alvin and the Chipmunks on DVD and we're going to watch it tonight. I'm so looking forward to vegging on the couch for a bit. Just when I thought my life couldn't get any busier, it did! But that's my fault...lol
Enjoy the rest of your week!
(April 2nd, 2008)
Happy April! Sorry for being so quite. I've been very, very busy making beads. There's a possibility that I may be doing my first bead show with my girlfriend and fellow glass artist, Holly. She sent in the application last week and we're just waiting hear if they have any booths left. The show is in Los Angeles on the 27th, so I've been working my butt off to get stuff made. Right now, I'm working on one set for you and one for the show, twice the work, and I'm doing my best to keep up with both. But I'm thinking I may have to spend the final week before only working on show beads. Have to see how it goes. I'll give you all the details as soon as I know for sure.
Have to run my mom and grandma to their doctor's appointment so I'll do the 'free beads' drawing as soon as I get back. Then we're off to go bowling. Wish us luck, 'cause we need it!
I'll have new specials Friday afternoon. See you then! ;)
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
