I'm writing you today with a broken heart... my grandmother passed-away this past Sunday from a cardiac arrest. I was with her in the ER holding her hand til the very end and telling her how much we all loved and will miss her. I also asked her to tell grandpa Hi! and that we love and miss him, too. My oldest son, Eric, picked up my mom from her house and brought her to the hospital, but by then, she was already gone. We kissed her, held hands together, prayed with the Chaplin and said our goodbyes.
When we came home from the hospital Madison said to me (before I told her) "Grandma's in Heaven". Somehow she knew she was gone. And then she said, "I think grandma's going to come back as a kitty cat". She's such a cutie-pie. I didn't have the heart to tell the kids the news that day because she passed on Eric's birthday. We took Eric out to dinner as planned, but I had the hardest time holding back the tears. We told Jordan and Madison Monday that she passed and is now in Heaven smiling upon us. They took it pretty hard, especially, Madison, because grandma lived with us since she was one (she's 5 now). We know she's in a better place. We talked for awhile about how sick grandma was and that she's resting peacefully now. Goodness... I can't stop crying. :*(
I'm keeping "American Girl" up for another week of voting. See you sometime next week.

Woo Hoo! Happy Friday! ;) What a strange week, weather-wise. Would you believe it's been pouring rain on & off this morning? I know. I can't believe it either, after the 100 degree heat we had last weekend. We're supposed to have thunder storms throughout the weekend. Sheesh! Is that crazy or what? I'm wearing a sweatshirt today and do you want to know what it says?...'Happy Holidays'... Better not go outside... people may think I'm a little weird...lol But I couldn't find another one.
I have 7 new specials to share with you today. It's Red, White & Blue all around. I truly love designing for the holidays. They're my favorite beads to make. I've been thinking about doing Christmas in July. I've never done that before. That sounds like so much fun, doesn't it? ;)
We'll be home this holiday weekend. Sunday is our oldest son's 24th birthday. I've asked him if he wanted to have his friends over to go swimming, but with the weather the way it is, I don't think that will happen. So we'll probably end up going out to dinner instead. There's an Asian restaurant here in town that we love going to. We haven't been there in a while. They have the yummiest sushi. Mmmm... me love sushi!
Have a very Memorial Day weekend!

Happy Monday! Boy was it HOT this weekend! Temperatures reached 105. Jordan had a baseball game Saturday and it was absolutely miserable out there. It didn't help that wind would pick up and the dirt from the field would fly into your face. We came home hot, sweaty and filthy. Yucky! I felt so sorry for the boys, who had to play in that awful heat. They did end up winning- 13 to 12. Yay! Go Padres!
So we turn the A/C on before we leave to the game... and guess what? We come home 3 hours later and it was 93 inside the house. Yikes! The first time we go to use it this season and it's not working. Well that just figures, doesn't it? I'm going to call the repairman today and have them come out and take a look at it. But who knows how long it'll be before they can make it out. I'm sure we're not the only ones who had trouble this weekend so I have a feeling they're not going to rush right out and fix it. Dwayne thinks the coolant needs recharging and I'm hoping and praying that's all it is. Lord knows, we can't afford to replace it. It's an older unit, maybe about 10 years or so. So it may be on it's last leg. Gosh... I hope not! We'll just have to wait and see... Keep your fingers crossed for us.
I'm all switched over to our new Internet and cable service provider. And as of the 25th, I will no longer have my Earthlink email address. So from now on, everything will go through my .com. I have to say my new provider is absolutely wonderful. I'm running 7 times faster than my old one. Yippee! I have to tell you something funny, though. When the service guy was here hooking everything up, he was surprised to hear we've never have a DVR. When I asked how to use the remote to record a show, he looked at me in shock and said, "You've never haaaad a DVR?" Geezz... he made me feel like I was the last person on earth who didn't have one...lol I'm totally in heaven. I can't believe we waited so long to finally get one. We can record 2 shows at the same time. The TV no longer controls me, I control it... heehee I can watch what I want, when I want. That's the best part because someone is always calling me for something and I have to get up, so I miss part of it. Now I can just rewind what I missed. Yahoo! Now don't laugh at me... but where the heck have we been? Ha!
I was busy all last week with orders. Now that I've got them all done, I have time to work on specials this week. I do have 2 for you today that I squeezed in in between the orders. One is a beachin' set in light blue. And the other is similar to the Bugs & Bees set I have pictured above as my logo. Except this time, the lentil and daisy beads have a ladybug on one-side and a bee on the other. It's totally reversible. How cute is that? I just love that idea! I'll have them up for you in just a bit... at about 9:30 PST. ;)
Have a lovely day!

Hi! ;) Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. We didn't go out to dinner like I had wanted to because my grandmother wasn't feeling very well. She had another one of her 'spells' that has to do with her Parkinson's Disease. She gets very nervous and her right hand shakes uncontrollably so she just wasn't up to going. I didn't feel right about leaving her home with my oldest son, Eric, who was more than happy to watch her for us. After-all it was Mother's Day, how could I leave her home? I just couldn't. So Dwayne went to the store, picked up rib-eye steaks and sea scallops. I sat by the pool, read my book and watched the kids swim while Dwayne barbecued. It turned out to be a very lovely day. ;)
Madison is home with me today and we've been busy doing our chores...lol She goes to preschool T-W-Th so she's home on Monday's and Friday's. She quite the little helper I tell ya. She loves to help me work around the house doing laundry and whatnot. Jordan has a game tonight that Dwayne is taking him to. I'm stating home with Madison and grandma because it's just too cold outside today to take grandma with. What a difference a day makes! Yesterday was sunny and warm where today it's cold and windy. Feels kinda like a Fall day or as they say, it's very May Grey.
Tomorrow will be an interesting day. We're switching our Internet service, phone and cable TV over to a new provider. I've been having a lot of trouble with our current service provider. So much so, that I'm just fed-up! It's one of those package deals at a fantastic price and it also includes a DVR. Something we don't have. Now I don't have to worry about missing some of my favorite shows. Yahoo! The service technicians will be here sometime in the afternoon to switch everything over. I'm going with the fastest Internet speed available and it's going to be great! No more waiting for things to load at a snails pace. Yay! If I have any changes in my email address, I'll be sure to let you know.
I have orders to work on this week so I'm not sure if I'll have any new beads to offer. Just have to see how it goes.
Have a fantastic week! ;)

Woo Hoo... Happy Friday everyone! Had a great time bowling Wednesday night and I'm happy to report we are no longer in last place. We're in 16th out of 24 teams and it feels great not to be on the bottom anymore. Yay! I checked the schedule, and unfortunately, we have 3 more weeks; not 1 or 2 like I thought. It's just dragging along and I can't wait for the season to be over with. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if we didn't have baseball too. With us going to practice 3 times a week and a game once, it feels like we're never home. Most of the time I feel like I'm running around like a chicken with it's head cut off...lol So it'll be nice when bowling ends. It'll be one less thing we have to do. ;)
Jordan had a baseball game last night and they played terribly. Don't know what was up with them, but they looked like the Bad News Bears out there...lol Maybe it was because they were tired after being at school all day and then had a game, plus they had State Testing this week and I have a feeling their little brains were mush by then. Their next game is Monday and we're hoping they are well rested by then. Practice is at 9:00 on Saturday mornings but there's no practice tomorrow because the coach's older son has a game at the same time so he cancelled it. So that means... we get to sleep in. Yay! I'm so happy!
Weekends plans... Jordan has yet another report due. It's on a famous Californian and he chose John Bidwell
. He has is research papers and we got a book from the library. He has to write his index cards and practice his speech. He also has to dress in character and speak as if he is that person. I'm not even sure what he's going to wear yet. In all of his pictures he's wearing a suit and has a beard just like Abraham Lincoln. I'll have to see what I can come up with by making a trip over to the Goodwill and to the costume shop for some fake hair for his beard. Sounds like fun, doesn't it?
Not sure what we're doing for Mother's Day yet. I'm hoping they'll surprise me with a nice evening out. Dinner and a movie would be wonderful. But they haven't said a word. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing...lol
Wishing you a very Happy Mother's Day! ;)

Hello... Happy Wednesday! ;) We were without power for a couple hours this morning while the electric company was working on our lines. You don't realize how dependant you are on electricity until you don't have any. I kept asking myself... Okay, what can I do now without using any power? So I polished my nails and read a book. There was nothing else I could do, not even laundry...lol And as I walked from room to room I would switch on the lights as if they'd come on. It's so automatic, I do it without thinking. Anyway... I'm glad they're done now so I can get some work done.
I have two new specials
for you today. One is black & lt. blue and it reminds me of the warm summer nights and the other is pretty pinks & purples with a raked star focal. Thanks for peeking!
Bowling tonight. Oh, joy! I can't even remember if tonight is our last night or if it's next week. Whichever it is... I'll be so happy when it's over with. 37 weeks is a long time and I'm getting so tired of going every week. Would you believe there are a couple people in our league who bowl 4 times a week. Is that crazy or what? It's pure torture to get me to go once a week. But maybe that's because we're in last place. Waaaa!
I better get going have lots to do before we leave tonight. Have a fantastic week! ;)

Woo Hoo... Happy Friday! And what a great week it's been. ;) I have two new specials for you today. They're full sets: the ones I would normally do as an auction set. They have 17 beads each and at buy-it-now price. I have earrings and cell phone charms up too as well. They'd make a wonderful Mother's Day gift or even a special graduation present. Shipping is only $1.00 on these and is included in the price. Thanks for peeking!
Yep!... still doing laundry...lol Today I'm washing all the linens and cleaning the hardwood floor. I've been neglecting it for the past couple weeks because I've been so busy. I swept up all the dust bunnies and if I put them all in one pile, it might of grown legs and walked away. Ha ha! We installed dark maple hardwood floors last fall and I'm wishing we just went with carpet. Yes... they're beautiful and all, but so high maintenance. You can see every bit of dust and dirt because they're so dark. Everyone kept telling us hardwood is the way to go, but now I'm wondering why we listened. It's so much easier to vacuum carpet. Oh well, live and learn. ;)
Tomorrow is a busy day... Jordan and Madison's schools are having their carnivals. They go to different schools and they're both from 10:00 to 3:00, so we'll go to them for a couple hours each. Jordan and Dwayne (my hubby) are signed up for the sack race and Jordan and Madison for the kids cupcake eating contest. Sounds like fun, doesn't it? Grandma is going with us this time. She couldn't go to Jordan's baseball carnival because it was held on the baseball field and there was no way I could of pushed her trough the dirt in her wheelchair so Dwayne stayed home with her. But the school carnivals are on the blacktop and she's really excited about going. Then Jordan has a baseball game at 5:00. It's going to be a very busy day indeed!
I've got a lot of orders to work on Sunday. No one hesitated on taking me up on my offer. Thank you all so much for ordering!
Have a BEAD-utiful weekend! ;)
