Good morning! Hope you had a lovely weekend. Mine was very nice. I really enjoyed myself Saturday at the bead association meeting at The Mandrel in Redondo Beach. It's always so much fun to get together and talk about beads, glass and other new fun stuff. I have some pictures to share with you today. After the meeting Holly and I stopped by Hermosa Beach to take a stroll along the water. And what a beautiful day it was. ;)

I was wishing it was me out there soakin' up some rays.

It was so beautiful

Lets go surfin'!

I so wanted to stand up behind this surfer dude and take a picture, but I didn't want to make a spectacle of myself in front of hundreds of people...lol

I picked up a couple new glass colors at the meeting and played with one of them yesterday- Green Tea. It's a premium color, which means it costs a whole heck of a lot more, but it's totally worth it, I think. Two of today's specials are made from Green Tea. It's a cross between light blue and turquoise. It's so beautiful that I can't wait to play with it again.

The kids have been bugging me to take them to the park to play baseball, so I'm taking them today. We have a really nice park just a couple blocks from us called Central Park, and it is so nice! Begining next Saturday night they're starting their concerts in the park summer series. We haven't been to one yet, mostly because we can hear it from our backyard. But this year, we're going down there to see it in person. I plan on taking a picnic dinner with us when we go. That sounds like so much fun, doesn't it? ;)

Have a fantastic day!

TGIF! Everyone. I'm so happy it's Friday. What a busy week it's been. I'm finished with all of the orders. They've been shipped and they're on their way. Yay! It took a couple more days than I had planned to because it's been so darn hot. Way too hot to sit in front of a torch and a kiln at running at 960 degrees. That's no fun! No, not at all. Whew! Although yesterday was considerably cooler than the days before, but the humidity was up, so it didn't feel like it.

I've been battling the blues. I'm very sad and miss my grandmother. I've received so many supportive emails, cards and flowers but I can't help but cry every time I get something. I have an empty hole in my heart and I just can't get over the fact she's gone. I know with time it will get better. I truly believe that it will. But it may take some time for me to get there. Goodness.... ;*(

I've been looking into something new... making Pandora lampwork beads. I've had a request for some so I thought I'd take time next week to work on that style. I think it'll be a nice change. And I also want to get started on "Christmas in July". That sounds like so much fun, doesn't it? Oh, how about if I throw in some Halloween beads too?  I really need something to cheer me up and holiday beads may just do the trick.

Tomorrow I'm going to my bead association meeting in Redondo Beach. It'll be so nice to get out of the house for a while and have beady day with friends. I'm also thinking about taking a stroll along the beach after the meeting. I've been going and going like the Energizer Bunny for the past month that it'll do me some good to have a little bit of me time. And what better place than the beach? I can't think of any.

Have a bead-utiful weekend! ;)

Hello ;) Happy Wednesday! My brother, Kenny, went home to Washington state yesterday after a 12 day visit with us. He's leaving July 9th for Naval boot camp in Great Lakes, IL. Then from there he's hoping to be stationed in San Diego, CA. But that all depends if they have an opening when he's through. After he's done with boot camp he goes right into special training, which will take an additional 3 months so he doesn't think he'll get there till January next year. Gosh, that seems so far away, doesn't it?  San Diego is about a 2 1/2 hour drive from here. We've been to Sea World in SD a couple of times, and it's so much fun! We're planning on going again this summer and to the Wild Animal Park as well. It's been many, many years since I've been, the kids have never been, so we're really looking forward to taking them.

I'm almost finished with the orders. Just have a couple more of them to do tonight. Boy, Sandy Beaches sure was popular! I had 14 orders on those. I never get tired of making them, though, it makes me dream about going to the beach. So I don't mind at all. ;)

It was wicked HOT last weekend. But temps have cooled down by 20 degrees the last 2 days, and what a difference it's made. Yay!

Have a lovely day!

Woo Hoo!! TGIF everyone! And what a HOT one it is! We've been in the triple digits for the past couple of days and it's so miserable. We try not to run our A/C unless we absolutely have to because it's too darn expensive. The average monthly electric bill in the summertime can reach over $500.00. And lord knows we can't afford a bill like that. So instead, we've been running the fans in the house and spending a lot of time in the pool. Hey! What better way to keep cool, right? Thank goodness for that!

My brother, Kenny, left Wednesday to his grandparents house. He should be back sometime tomorrow afternoon. Jordan's baseball team is having an end of season party tomorrow at one of his teammates house. They also have a pool with water slide. Yahoo! It's going to be so much fun!

I've been really busy working on orders. Thank you all so much for ordering. You're truly the BEST customers ever!! The first batch will hit the mailbox Monday. ;)

Have a fantastic weekend!

Good morning! ;) We've been having a wonderful time visiting with my brother. We went to Ventura Beach, Sunday, for Father's Day and had so much fun.  I would totally move there and become a beach bum for the rest of my life. The kids would love to move there, too. Jordan would absolutely trade our life here for a surfer's life. I could totally see him at the beach everyday catching waves. And Madison catching sand crabs and building sand castles. Ah, what a life, huh? But only if we could afford to. When I was little, we used to live in Huntington Beach. My mom and I would ride our tandem bike (Remember those? It's a two seater) to the beach, just a few blocks away. And my step-dad would take me crabbing on the peer. Ah, those were the days! How I wish we never moved from there. Who knows... I could of turned out to be a surfer girl...lol I think that's why I'm so drawn to beach themed beads, it really is a part of me.

Speaking of beachin' beads.... I have six sets up for ordering. I decided to take orders this week because my brother is going to visit his grandparents for a couple days and I need something to keep me busy while he's gone. I've had so many requests for 'Sandy Beaches' that I have it up in blue and pink. The pink is new and super-cute! What girl doesn't love pink? I also have two new rooster sets- inspired by my kitchen calender. They're my first roosters and I'm so proud of them. Plus two more sets that are my all time favorites. Bees and strawberries... I could make those till the cows come home...lol Thank you so much for taking a peek! ;)

It's been super-hot here in the high 90's and I'm so thankful that we have a pool. What would we do without it? We've been spending a lot of time in there keeping cool. I call Madison my little mermaid because she can dive all the way to the bottom of our 8 foot pool. She's so proud of herself and comes up smiling every time. What a cutie-pie!

Keep cool and have a wonderful day!

Hello everyone! ;) I've been so very busy this week working on orders and getting ready for my brother's visit. He flies in today from Washington state and is staying with us for 12 days. He graduated from high school this past Monday and has enlisted in the Navy and leaves for boot camp mid July. He wanted to be a pilot, but his grades weren't quite there, so he's going to be a fireman instead. I'm so proud of him! ;) I have to pick him up at the Burbank airport at 12:55pm. I've been rushing around this morning trying get everything in ship-shape before I have to go get him. We plan on hanging around the house, barbecuing, relaxing by the pool and taking a trip or two to the beach. Madison so wants to sleep at the beach. She says, all she needs is her sleeping bag and she's good to go. Ha! She's so darn cute!

Today is Madison's last day of preschool and they're having a graduation ceremony tonight. I'm so happy that my brother will be here to see her graduate. Tomorrow is Jordan's last day of fourth grade and it's a half-day. Wow! I truly can't believe how fast the school year has flown by. Madison will be going to Jordan's school in the fall as a kindergartner. And guess what? She's going to have the same teacher as Jordan did. How neat is that? She's really excited about being able to walk to school because it's just around the corner from our house. Her preschool is too faraway to walk. We always have to drive there, so this will be a whole new experience for her. Did I mention how excited she is? She was "WOO HOO-ing! It's my last day!" all the way to school this morning....lol

Goodness... I better get going to the airport. Take care and have a lovely weekend! ;)

Hello ;) Happy Friday everyone! Boy, it's been an emotional 2 weeks. I've been trying very hard to cope with the loss of my grandmother, but I'm not doing so good. I miss her so much. The hardest day for me was when the bus came to pick her up last Thursday to take her to the Senior Center when I already told them she passed-away the Monday before. When I looked out the window and saw the bus, I cried my eyes out. It reminded me of our daily routine. And then there's dinnertime when there's one less plate and I no longer have to prepare her dinner just the way she likes it. I know there'll be times when I'm at peace with her passing and others of sadness. I cry everyday wishing the doctor could of saved her. Our lives revolved so much around hers that it feels like there's an empty hole. So it's difficult for me to let her go. I know I have to... She would of wanted it that way.

I spent a lot of time making beads this week and I have a bunch of specials to share with you today. It's been really nice getting back to work. And I hope you find something you love.

Weekend plans... Jordan has a baseball game tomorrow morning. Nothing else special planned. Just relaxing around the house and taking it easy. And that's just what I need. ;)

Have a bead-utiful weekend!
