Good morning! Hope you had a great weekend. Ours was very nice. Saturday we took a drive up through the Los Angeles Crest Forest
. When I was little, my grandma and grandpa used to take me camping there all the time, but I haven't been there for many, many years now. I was talking to Dwayne about possibly taking the kids camping there like I used to do with my grandparents, so we went to check it out. It's a beautiful scenic mountain road filled with blooming yucca and evergreen trees. Madison was all- "Wow, wie! Look at that view!" It was absolutely breathtaking! We stopped in at the campsite area to see what it's like and the kids asked, "If we stay here, what do we do?"...lol I told them that's the whole point, nothing! We relax, play games, ride bikes and go on hikes. Doesn't that sound like fun? I asked. And they gave me this look like... Yeah, sure mom! Now we have a membership to Thousand Trails, where they have planned activities, a huge swimming pool, a mini golf course and a fishing pond. So when they were taking a look around the forest I'm sure they were thinking- Why should we camp here? There's no water in the steams. Everything is dried up. So what fun is this going to be? Well that idea is out, unless we want to listen to them complain about how bored they are all weekend. So I guess I'll have to see what weekends Thousand Trails has available...lol
Well, we just had a 5.8 earthquake located in Orange County. It's about an hour and a half from here. Eric my oldest son came out of his room and said, "Did we just have an earthquake? Because my bed was shaking." I was walking around the house so I didn't feel a thing. I went out to my studio to check for damage and some of my glass slid forward, but didn't fall out. Thank goodness! Dwayne called me from work and said his tanker truck was parked and then it started shaking. He thought to himself, what's going on? He then looked up at the light post and they were shaking, too. He's fine though. A little shaken up over it. But now I'm on pins and needles because there's always aftershocks and you never know where they'll hit. I'll let you you know if feel anything.
I have a couple more orders to work on and I should be done with those in a day or two. Then I'll work on some new things for my Etsy shop before the week is through.
Have a lovely day!

Hi ;) Happy Thursday! Hope you're having a great week. My birthday boys had a great time at their party. We barbecued went swimming and had so much fun. We got Jordan Guitar Hero for his Nintendo DS and he's absolutely thrilled. I also got him a couple shirts for school, which starts in three weeks. I can't believe it's almost time to go back. Boy, the summer is flying by! Madison is really excited to start kindergarten because she'll get out at the same time as Jordan and will be able to walk home with us. She's not so excited about having her immunizations and TB test done next week. She keeps asking how many she has to have. It's going to be four. Hope she takes them well and doesn't cry like she has in the past. Poor thing!
I've been really busy working on orders and I'm happy to report I'm all done. Yay! I have new sets up for ordering today. I'm really enjoying taking orders, it keeps me focused because I know exactly what I'm making when I head to my studio. Plus, I feel like I'm more productive this way. Thank you so much for ordering.
Our weather has cooled down a bit into the low 90's, which is way more tolerable than the 100's. I started working at night again after everyone has gone to bed. It's so much nicer because I don't have to hurry like I did during the day before it got too hot. So it gives me more time to make beads. Yay! I love it! ;)
Have a fantstic day!

Here we are again. It's Friday. Yay! I took the kids to the skate park yesterday and they had such a blast, but it was so darn hot! There's nothing like standing out in the hot sun surrounded by a bunch of concrete...lol We stopped by the aquatic center after they were through, which is just below the skate park, to see what time they open. They have a small water play area that's just perfect for younger kids. We've only been there once when Madison was one, so she was too young to remember. I'm going to taking them there today for a day of fun in the sun. They're also doing swimming and a movie (Shrek) tonight at 7:00, so we might stay for that too. Sounds like fun, doesn't it?
Jordan's 10th birthday is Monday and Dwayne's is Tuesday, so we're have a birthday party for them Sunday. We've invited friends and my cousins are coming up from Orange County, one of whom shares a birthday with Dwayne. We're barbecuing hamburgers and hot dogs and I'm making potato salad. I love making my own because the store bought kind tastes so yucky. I just need to get to the store tomorrow and pick up everything we need. Oh, and I'd also like to get a couple more pool toys because we only have one and Jordan and Madison are always fighting over it. Shesh! They make us crazy. So having a couple more will be so nice, if only for my sanity...lol
Have a great weekend everyone! ;)

Good morning! ;) Is everyone keeping cool? I hope so. It sure has been hot here. We went to the movies Saturday and saw Wall-e. Oh my gosh, have you seen it? It is so cute! The movie trailers we saw, didn't go into any detail about the story line. Just that he's a lonely robot picking up garbage, so I wasn't sure what to expect. But it was so much more than that! It's a story about finding love and the lengths he goes to win her heart. Plus, it delivers an environmental message. One of our favorite animated movies is Cars (interestingly enough, also done by Pixar Films) because it teaches kids- hard work, respect, friendship and loyalty are very important in life. I'm a true believer in it takes a village and anytime these messages can be instilled in our children about how important values are, I absolutely love it!
I'm ready for Christmas in July, if you are. I have new sets up for ordering done in traditional reds and greens. And of course... Frosty, Crystal and Rudolph too. I have so much fun making them. They're so darn cute. Hope you find something you love and thank you so much for ordering. ;)
Oh, I still have the Halloween sets up in my Etsy Shop so if you like to order those, you're more than welcome to. You can either email me here with your request or checkout there.
Have a very lovely day!

Hi! Hope you're having a great day! I've been really busy making beads today and I'll have a full update for you tomorrow. I'm off to jump in the pool. It's a hot one!
Keep cool! ;)

Happy Saturday! I have another one to share with you today. Check this out... a hand hammered bracelet using my sand dollar beads designed by Cinnamonsticks. Isn't it incredible? Wow!
Boy, this is fun! If you keep'em come 'n, I'll have to set up a whole new page. ;)
(July 11th, 2008)
Lookie what I just found. Here are 2 bracelets from Beads of Paradis using my beads. Sea Breeze using Sandy Beaches is on page 1 and Scaredy Cat using Spooky Spider on page 2. Aren't they lovely? If you have something you'd like to share, send me the link. I love just sharing. ;)
Is it Friday again, already? Wow... that went fast! I'm having such a great time working on the Halloween orders. There's something about them that makes me smile. ;) I just love designing for the holidays they bring me such joy. Can't wait to get started on the 'Christmas in July' beads next week. I have two more big orders to work on, then I'll begin working on those. Yahoo!
Boy, has it been hot! Temps in the 90's, overcast skies and high humidity. It makes it feel even hotter when we have days like these. We've been spending a lot of time in the pool, trying to keep cool. And guess what? It's working. When we get all hot and sweaty, what better way to cool off than taking a dip? Ahhh, it's so nice! What's not so nice is the temps in my studio. When I go out there in the morning, it's 73 with the A/C running. But by the time 3 hours rolls around and with my kiln running at 960 degrees, it's already reached 93. Yuck! That's when I have to stop and go jump in the pool. I can only thank my lucky stars for our pool.
Weekend plans... I think Jordan is sleeping over at a friends house tonight. He's waiting for him to call and confirm. It's the same boy's house who held the end of season baseball party and Jordan has been dieing to go back over there. Their house is on 4 acres, in which the boys ride around the property on a golf cart. They also have a beautiful salt water pool with a huge water slide. At the party, it was the first time I've been in a salt water pool. And I have to tell you, it was wonderful! When you get out your skin is so soft, not like a chlorine pool like ours. Where you have to rub yourself down with lotion after you get out of the shower, because your skin is all dried out. I think it'd be the same as having a water softener in your home, but that's something we don't have. Maybe some day. I'll be working on orders trying to get them done that way I can start in on Christmas beads. Yay!
Have a bead-utiful weekend everyone! ;)
(July 7th, 2008)
Hi ;) Happy Monday! Did everyone have a great three day weekend? We sure did! Boy, it was so nice and it really did feel like a long holiday weekend. Yay! We went to the mall and watched the fireworks. Got a really good parking spot, where we set out our beach chairs and enjoyed the show. It only took 25 minutes to get out of the parking lot and to the street this time. Yahoo! You may remember last year, we parked on the top the parking structure and it took us almost 2 hours just to get down from there. What a bad idea that was! We learned our lesson, that's for sure, and we'll never do that again! So even with having to wait in a long line of cars, it was totally worth it. I really, really wanted to go to the beach for the 4th, but Dwayne didn't want to. He's all... "It'll take us an hour to get to the beach, then it's an hour home and it'll be late. Why can't we just go to the mall?" I swear, that man can be such a dud sometimes. Ha!
Saturday, we had a lovely swim party and BBQ with friends. There were 8 kids total and had such a blast. We don't get together that often and should really do it more. The more the merrier, I say.
Woo Hoo! The Halloween beads are going like hotcakes. You have no idea how thankful I am to have such great customers. Thank you! I'll be working on those all this week, then next if I'm done with all the orders, I plan on making 'Christmas in July' beads. I have been practicing the Pandora beads I talked about, but I'm so not used to working with a larger hole, so I need a bit more practice on those before I can show them in public...lol
Have a fantastic week! ;)
(July 3rd, 2008)
Woo Hoo! Happy Friday... well not really, but tomorrow is a holiday! Yahoo! I've been very busy making beads and have 4 new sets to share with you today. They're listed some place new- Etsy. I've decided to post some larger sets in my new Etsy shop in hopes new customers can find me there. Thank you so much for stopping in! ;)
I'm also taking orders for Halloween beads today. I thought it'd be a better idea to offer made to order beads and see how they go. I know it's early, but I've already had requests for them. The ones I'm putting up today are the sets I made last year. I do plan on making new ones too, but I want to see how many people are interested in them before I go all gun ho! Make sense? Anyway, I hope you find something you like. ;) Oh, if you order something from my Esty shop and my website, I can either combine shipping or send them priority mail. Just let me know by email. Thank you!
Weekend plans... Not sure what we're doing for the 4th yet. Six Flags isn't doing fireworks this year due to the massive wildfires we had last year, so that idea is out. We'll probably take a drive to the beach and watch them there. It's my favorite place to be anytime of year, so what better place? Saturday we're having friends over for a barbecue and go swimming. Mary is a dear friend of mine and our kids are best friends. I was talking with her yesterday and she had another friend pass-away this week. That makes it 3 so far for her this year. Isn't that so sad? I knew one of her friends from the birthday parties we both attended. She has 2 boys, who Mary is now taking care of. Mary has 4 boys of her own and now she's taking care of 6. What a super-sweetheart she is! If it was me I would of taken them in, too. Some how we just manage, whatever the circumstances may be. So she of all people is in need of a little fun and what better place than my house... where the fun never ends! lol
Have a very safe and HAPPY 4TH of JULY!
