Happy Monday! Did everyone have a great weekend? We sure did. Sunday we went to the Indian Pow Wow and Street Art Festival here in town. We go every year and it's always so much fun! There were artists drawing in chalk right in the street- which was of course, blocked off. It's incredible to see their work and all the hours that goes into it. Here are a few pictures I took, so you can see how truly amazing it is.

The Pow Wow as fun, too. We watched them dance in their traditional clothing. Leathers, feathers, head dresses and bells on their feet. But I couldn't help but think how hot it must of been under all that clothing. And it was very HOT yesterday- 92. Whew! When we got home we went swimming. I will admit the water was a little chilly, but it felt so good after being out in the hot sun all day.

I have a new set to share with you today up on the Bead Specials page called Fab Flowers. It's similar to the Flower Power set I did last year, but more detailed. I'm thinking about making more of them in different colors this week, but I'll have to see what time I have, as I have some orders to work on, too.

Did you notice my new logo? Isn't she cute? And she looks just like me. A mini ME!...lol The original artwork and logo was made by Alice at http://clipart4resale.com/shop/ She was a real pleasure to work with. Thanks Alice! :0)

That's all for today.... Hope you have a fantastic week!

Good morning! We have a TGIF! winner. Head to the Friday Surprise page to see who it is and what they've won. This is so much fun!

I have something new to share with you today on the Bead Specials page. It's an adorable set of Rosie Posies and encased polka dots. Thanks for checking it out!

Have a fantastic weekend everyone and I'll see you Monday. :0)

Woo Hoo! Happy Friday everyone! Boy, have I been busy getting my website in ship-shape. It's looking pretty good, don't cha think? I'm still looking into getting a new beady logo, and hopefully, I'll have one real soon. But I have everything else in order.... And guess what? I've opened up a catalog. Why? Because I've had so many requests for ordering directly from my site that I thought... I've got myself on a schedule now, so why not. I've also had people ask for wholesale discounts, which I've never done in the past. So, instead of doing wholesale to those of you who have resale licenses, I've decided to give 10% off to everyone who makes a purchase of $100.00 or more.  How 'bout that? Yahoo! :0) You can find the new catalog under the 'Shop Online' link.

I've also started doing the 'TGIF! Friday Surprise' giveaway again. It's been so long since I've done it. Gosh, that was so much fun, wasn't it? So, don't forget to put your name in today. The winner will be drawn tomorrow. Good luck everyone! What was the record again? 284 entries in a single day. That I do remember!

Yesterday was parent teacher conferences and Madison is a shining star. I knew she would be because she's one smart cookie! Her teacher said, she completes all of her classwork but tends to take a little bit longer to finish because she wants it to be perfect. Her teacher wrote, 'Perfectionist' on her report. Sounds like Mommy, doesn't it?...lol There's nothing wrong with that, is there? But Jordan on the other hand, is majoring in work avoidance. I swear, he thinks time never ends because he takes his sweet time with everything. He's never focused on completing his work, so he can do something else. Even when it comes to homework and he knows when he's done, he can go play. But what does he do? Avoids it at all costs. What am I going to do with that boy? Lord, help me!

Weekend plans... We've been talking about going on a day trip this weekend. Maybe to the beach or something like that. Madison loves the beach, and every time we say were going to go somehwere... She asks, "To the Beach?" So we may end up there, who knows. :0)

Have a super weekend and don't forget to put your name in for TGIF! Friday Surprise!

No, you're not seeing things. I have a new look. Woo Hoo! I was so tired of looking at the same old website, so I got a new template. Whatca' think? I'm still making changes and that'll take some time to fix. Plus, I'd like to get a beady logo, instead of the ladybug one, which is cute, but I'd prefer something beady.

Happy Tuesday! The new specials are up. I'm not taking orders on these this week because I have a bunch of stuff I need to work on. I plan to have a lot more for you next week. ;)

Have a terrific day!

Hi! ;) Our electricity was out for 5 hours today, while the power company changed out the transformer on our block. It's so weird not having any power. I kept walking around the house switching on the lights when I knew it was out. But it's so automatic, I do it without even thinking. Just glad it's back on because I have so much to talk about....

Madison received a citizenship award from her teacher during the awards assembly last Friday. How cool is that? We're so very proud of her. And I volunteered to be an assistant Girl Scout Leader for the troop Madison is joining. I didn't plan to be, but I kind of got talked into it. Isn't it funny how that happens? When we went to the information meeting last Monday, the school recruiter informed us that there was no leader for the new girls coming in, so they were in need of one. I was talking with another mom who was a little interested and she said, she wouldn't mind co-leading and I said, I wouldn't mind either.  So, we went home and waited a couple days to see if anyone else would come forward to take on the role. And guess what? No one else did, so we ended up with the job. Now I was an assistant Boy Scout Master when my oldest son was a scout and I had the best time. So I figured, why not! It's not like I have anything else on my plate...lol I did find out I'll have to go to two leadership training sessions,  which are 3 hours each within the next couple weeks. And I'm not sure at this point where our meetings will be held. We were thinking the school, but it may be at the leaders house or even mine. We still have to work out those details. Good Lord, what have I gotten myself in to?...lol

Saturday Holly and I went to our annual bead association meeting at Brea Bead Works. Gosh, that was so much fun! Not only the meeting, but we went to lunch The Cheesecake Factory afterwards. It was the first time I'd been there and let me tell ya... It was so yummy! And yes we had desert. Which one? Chocolate coconut cheesecake. Oh, man! It was to die for! Mmm, mmm good! Then we went to Glass Obsessions who was having their 4th anniversary open house to buy some glass. And then we heard Pacific Art Glass was also having their store-wide 10% off anniversary sale, so of course, we had to go there, too...lol There we met up with a couple girls from our bead group, who were also there demoing, so we sat around for a bit and watched them show us a few tricks. So fun! I left my house at 8:45 and didn't get home till 6:00. Boy, what a great day that was! Thanks, Holly! ;)

I do have new beads for you, but I'll post them tomorrow. Right now, I have to get my troop fed because, they're telling me they're staring. So, I'll see you again tomorrow.

Have a great night!

Happy Monday! Hope you had a great weekend. Me... I was glued to the T.V watching the news on the hurricane in Texas and the train crash in Chatsworth, C.A. - which is only 25 minutes from our house, and I know exactly where it happened. My heart goes out to all of the families who lost their loved ones and or homes in both of these tragedies. It is so very sad.

We went on a Sunday drive and it was so nice to get out of the house for a change. We drove up through the canyons to the high desert, just for the fun of it. Although, the kids kept saying, "This is so boring!" And then Madison fell asleep. She usually does in the car when we go for long rides. Then Jordan finally came around and said, "This is really nice." Ha! Kids can be so fickle, can't they? We stopped at a great barbecue place that we've been wanting to try for a long time. We ordered the family dinner that included barbecue ribs, chicken, beef brisket and pulled pork. And that came with huge french fries, coleslaw and baked beans. Let me tell you.... it was so yummy! I am making you hungry? I'm making myself hungry just thinking about it again...lol

I've finally got myself on a schedule. Yay! From now on I'll post my specials here on my website on Monday and do all of my shipping Saturday. I'm only taking a small amount of orders say 3 or 4 days worth of work, then I'm cutting them off. You will not see these particular sets come back in the future making them limited sets. This way I can move forward each week without being overwhelmed. So, with that being said, I have a lot for you to choose from today. And as always, thank you so much for seeing what I have to offer day. ;)

Have a wonderful day!

Happy Wednesday! I just had to show you how the cupcakes turned out yesterday. ;)

Madison icing.
Can you see the dot on her nose? It's icing. Daddy put it there.
It was too funny!
And yes, that's cupcake batter on her chin from licking the beaters.
Jordan and Madison decorating.
He didn't mind making flowers.
He said, they taste the same no matter how you decorate them.
They were so yummy!
And that's chocolate batter on his shirt from holding onto the bowl while licking it.
Me and Madi
If you look closely, you can see red icing color gel on my left cheek.
Now how did that get there?...lol
They're not kidding when they say, you only need a little bit.
That stuff is really concentrated!

I'm a happy girl today.... got my emails done, my studio cleaned and the sales from yesterday packed and shipped. And all before I need to pick up my kiddies from school. Yay! Now if I could only get myself on a schedule by posting weekly sales on one day and shipping them on another, I'd be even happier. I've been thinking about this for awhile now and I'm done with procrastinating. I am going to do it! It'd help things run more smoothly by me not having to worry about what I have to get done on a daily basis. Once a week, sound good to you? Sounds good to me. Now I just have to pick which days work best. ;)

Enjoy the rest of your week!

(September 9th, 2008)

Good morning! How is everyone? Guess what today is.... It's my birthday. ;) Yep - another year gone in a flash...lol The older I get the faster time flies. I really wish it'd slow down at least a little bit.

Been trying to work during the day but I'm not getting much done, because before I know it, it's time to pick the kids up from school. I only get 3 hours of work time in and that's just not enough to do get done what I need. So I've decided, once again, to go back to working at night. I get so much more done that way. I was able to get a few things made for you. And what better day to debut my cupcake beads than on my birthday... I can't think of any. I have couple other new things over there, too. An adorable set and pendants that I'm calling 'Out on a Limb.' It's a birdie sitting on a tree branch. How cute is that? And another Halloween set and candy corn earrings. They're all up in my Etsy shop (see link above). Hope you find something you like.

Birthday plans... I'm making cupcakes with the kids today after school. I received Hello, Cupcake! for my birthday and we can't wait to make some. If you didn't already guess, that's where my cupcake bead inspiration came from.... a cookbook. Yummy! I have a whole list of colors and toppings I want to try on a bead... the possibilities are endless!

Have a wonderful day!

(September 4th, 2008)

Good morning everyone! How are you all doing? I had a couple orders come in over the past few days, so I've been really busy working on those. Hope to have new beads for you in a couple more days. I was thinking about winter-y beads. What would you like to see? I'd love to hear your thoughts. ;)

I took Jordan to the doctor yesterday for his final visit. Other than a couple scabs left from the dog bite, he's doing great. He has another day left on the antibiotic, then he's all through. He did say, he doesn't want to go back to the park for a while. I don't blame him. We're just hoping he won't be afraid of dogs. I guess time will tell. He brought home his palm pilot from school last week. They provided them for the students, but encouraged us to buy our own. I just can't see spending $260.00 for something they use for only one year. And since the school had a loaner program, why not use theirs? And Lord knows, we can't afford to buy one. The teacher gave them keyboarding and creative writing assignments, so he's having a lot of fun with it.

I'm volunteering in Madison's classroom tomorrow. It's the first time I've been able to do it, ever. With having a little one at home (Madison) I wasn't able to for Jordan. But now that she's in school, too, it'll be fun to see what they do in kindergarten. They've already had quite a bit of homework in the past two weeks... sight words, name practice, shapes and cutouts from magazines and newspapers. All I have to say is... thank goodness for all the advertisements we get in the mail, it's been our saving grace. I've always hated them before. Still do, actually. It's such a waste of trees, if you ask me. Man, we get so many of them, just about every single day. But without them, how could she do her homework? We've been searching the ads for red, blue, yellow, squares, circles and triangles, so she's been cutting and pasting her little heart out to fill up the pages. The hardest one so far was triangle. You know how hard it is to find things shaped as a triangle? Well, let me tell ya... it was so hard! We found one that was a bathing suit top and cut it right along the triangle, so you couldn't see what was behind it. You have to do, what you have to do...lol

Better get going. I need to get laundry started. It sure is a never ending battle around here.

Have a terrific Thursday!

(September 1st, 2008)

Happy Monday everyone! Guess what happened to me yesterday. Now don't laugh... I was home alone. That never happens and it was the weirdest thing. Jordan and Madison slept over at a friends house and Dwayne had to work. So what did I do? Made beads, of course! It's my favorite thing to do. ;) I have 4 new sets in my Etsy shop. Along the same lines as the French Vanilla sets I had last week. You know when you find something you absolutely love and you want one in every color? Well, that's what happened. I just had to make one in every color. I will say, Jade is my favorite. Hope you find something you love, too. Thanks for peeking!

The fun of my time alone will soon come to an end, because the troops are on their way back. Jordan and Madison are bringing their two friends over to spend the day here with us. I'm sure they'll want to go swimming and ride bikes, it's their favorite thing to do. And pretty soon the water will be too cold to go swimming, so I'm sure they'll want to squeeze every last minute in before the summer is over. We're going to barbecue tri-tip for dinner and relax the rest of the day. Well, as best as we can with four kids running around...lol

I'll be keeping everyone who may be in Gustov's path in my thoughts. And let's pray no one will be in harms way.

Have a very happy and safe labor day!
