Happy Halloween Friday Everyone! I've been a busy gal this week, and have a nice variety to share with you today. From something on the wild-side to St. Nick and Thanksgiving pumpkins. And there's also 4 sets of the ring beads I started making last week. Those are so cute!
On a personal note.... Madison is selling magazines for Girl Scouts to help pay for Spring Camporee. If you would like to support her troop by renewing or ordering a magazine subscription, please email me and I'll send you the link.
Last night, Madison and I played Halloween Bingo with our Girl Scout service unit. She was dressed as a Pet Vet and I as a Hippie. I was going to wear my PJ's and a robe as if I just rolled out of bed. But decided at the last minute to wear a tie-die shirt, blue jeans, corky heeled sandals (yes. I had a pair in my closet...lol) straightened my hair and wore a headband. I looked really cool and got lots of compliments. I wish I took a picture, but we raced out of here so fast not to be late. Do you know how long it takes to straighten your hair? Too long. I tell ya! Madison got a 4 corners Bingo, and was so excited. The caller was a hoot, and had us yelling and screaming the whole night. Gosh, that was fun!
Madison is going to a GS Halloween party tomorrow afternoon, and then we're going Trick or Treating at a friends who's putting on a Haunted House. Wooooooo so scary!
Have a Boo!-tiful Halloween!

Happy Wednesday everyone! I've been really busy making new beads for Friday, and I can't wait to show you those! But today I wanted to ask... Would anyone like to order or renew a magazine subscription, because Madison is participating in a Girl Scout fundraiser. What is her troop earning money for? In May, we plan to go to Spring Camporee and it costs $75.00 per girl for 3 days at Pine Summit. Our troop earns 20% on all orders placed on the magazine website. They've already raised $24.20 and would be thrilled if they could raise enough money to pay for all six of them. So, if you'd like to place an order to support our troop for you or a friend (Christmas is just around the corner *hint-hint*:) let me know and I'll email you the direct link.
Thank you so very much from the bottom of their little hearts!

Boy, the weekend just flew by, didn't it? Friday night, Madison and I went to the school carnival. She spent almost all of her tickets trying to win the 'Cake Walk.' What is it? You walk around stepping on numbers in a circle and when the music stops, they spin the wheel and the number on the wheel determines the winner. Gosh... she must of played it at least 10 times, and she had me play twice with her. But we didn't win. Poor thing was so upset. So on our way out, we stopped at the bake sale and bought 2 Halloween cupcakes as a consolation prize. And she was most happy it had a chocolate eyeball on top. Ha-ha! Nothing brings a smile to a child's face like a chocolate eyeball...lol The face painting lady did such a fantastic job making Madison into a tiger, that I posted a picture in my Flick album. Check it out. She looks so awesome!
Daisy Days, Saturday, was a lot of fun. It was 2 1/2 hours at the park filled with games and dancing. Oh, man, I think they played Miley's 'Party in the USA'
50 times. Because by the end of the day, it was stuck in my head. You should of seen the older girl scouts dancing and singing to it at snack time, as if, they were in the music video. Just too cute!
Yesterday, Madison and I went to the movies a saw Where the Wild Things Are
. Did we like it? I'm not really sure. It was really weird. All I can say is... wish we saw Astro Boy instead.
Hey! Have you been Boo-ed!
? It's just like ding-dong ditch, but you leave a goody bag filled with Halloween treats behind after you ring the doorbell. My girlfriend told me about after she was Boo-ed! a few days ago. I thought it was the cutest thing, and can't wait to Boo! someone. So neighbors, BEWARE! Mwaaaa-ha-ha-ha-ha…! :)
Have a spook-tacular week!

Happy Friday! I'm back from picking up the kiddies from school. It was a half day today. Madison is on a play-date and I just dropped of Jordan at a friends house for the weekend. Tomorrow, I'm taking my Girl Scout troop to another event called Daisy Days. It's at a park in the San Fernando Valley. And it's going to be an afternoon filled with activities for 6 and 7 year old girls. This is our first year going, so I'm not sure what to expect. But if it was anything like last weekend, it's going to be a blast!
I've been feeling a little under the weather the past 2 days and I'm not sure what's wrong. I just feel tired. Hey! Maybe I need to drink more coffee...lol Speaking of coffee.... I have 2 coffee bean sets today. Remember when those were featured in the Jan/Feb 09 issue of Step by Step Beads
in the Java Jive necklace? That was so neat. I also have a couple wintry sets, too, as well. Thanks for peeking! :)
I'm going to lay down and hopefully get some rest before Madison gets home. Have a wonderful weekend!

Boy, we had such a great time Saturday at Girl Scout Camporee. It was a day filled with fun events and activities. They did bead stringing- which is right up my alley :), ceramic painting, coloring, dancing, water play and they even built a box oven in which they baked brownies in for a lunchtime dessert. Those were yummy! Hey! Guess what? At the campfire that night, our troop number was called for 'Best Decorated Day Camp'. You should of seen our girls jump out of their seats screaming as they walked up to collect the award. Too cute! We were at the campground for 13 hours. And by the time I got home, I was so exhausted, I couldn't keep my eyes open and went straight to bed. Whew! What a great day!
Today at 3:30 we're going to Lombardi Ranch
. I've talked about them before. We go there every year as a family. But this time, we're going as a troop for a tour, train ride and to visit their petting zoo. So fun!
I've been working really hard to get a bunch of beads made for Friday, so I'll see you then. :)
Enjoy the rest of your week!

Woo Hoo! Happy Friday! I have a couple things to share with you today. And there's something completely new... beads for making wire wrapped rings. Have you seen the tutorials in wire wrapping magazines? When my friend, Holly, was here she showed me an article on how to make them. So I though, maybe you guys would like to make them, too. I'll do plan on making more, so look forward those next week. :)
Dwayne and I watched 'The Proposal' yesterday. It's such a cute movie. We liked it so much, in fact, that it made us cry...lol We also saw 'Grand Torino' that was really good, too. It has a sad ending, though, so be prepared for that. Dwayne signed us up for Netflix a couple weeks ago and we get a new movie every 2 days. They must have a distribution center close to us, because before we know it, the next one is already in our mailbox. It's been great!
There's no school today, it's teacher development day. So Jordan spent the night at a friend house last night. Madison is home and she helped me do all the packaging this morning. We're off to the P.O. to drop those off, then pick up what we need for GS Camporee tomorrow. We're really excited. It's going to be much a fun day!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Do I even know what day it is? In my newsletter today I wrote Happy Wednesday. I'm so sorry to scare you like that, because it really is Thursday and tomorrow is Friday...lol
OMG!! So, Madison brings two of her friends home from school yesterday for a play date, when I hear screaming coming from her room. I go and see what all the commotion is and there they are standing on top of her bed yelling Ants, Ants, Ants! I look over at her bookshelf, and to my discovery, they're all over it. Guess what they were after? A half eaten granola bar. Oh, man, there had to of been thousands marching in rows of three. Yikes! I get out the vacuum and suck them all up, while the girls are screaming in the background. I told Madison no more eating in her room and leaving leftovers. It was pretty funny, though. You should of seen them.
Today on Etsy (see the link below) I have Santa Claus Lane and an interchangeable beaded bottle opener that includes one of my lampwork penguins. It's my first one and it's so cute. Dwayne is upset that I'm selling it, because he loves penguins. But he'll get over it. Ha-ha! Thanks for taking a peek at what I have to offer today.
Enjoy the rest of your week!
(October 12, 2009)
Happy Tuesday everybody! With the holiday's quickly approaching and my schedule becoming increasingly busy, I've decided to go exclusive with all of my bead sets. So what does that mean, exactly? I am no longer taking orders. Nope, not one! Alternatively, I will take requests if you really liked (...), and will keep that in mind for future sets. But please understand, no two sets will be the same again, making them one of a kind. I can not, however, guarantee you'll get the set you requested. Because from now on, everyone is on an equal playing field. So with that being said, it's up to you to check in. I'm starting off today on Etsy
with 4 holiday sets, and plan to have more available Thursday. Thanks for listening and taking the time to see my beads. :)
I have such a busy week ahead of me. Tonight, I have my Girl Scout leadership meeting, tomorrow our bi-weekly troop meeting, and then, Saturday we'll be at Camporee. It's going to be a day filled with fun games and activities. And of course... a campfire and S'mores. Yum-O!
Guess what else I've volunteered myself for? A room parent for Jordan's class. Yep! Yesterday, I got a call from the school asking for room parents, because no one else had signed up. I told her I'd be happy to help out in anyway I can, but I can't be the go-to girl, because I have to much on my plate right now. She promised I'd just be a helper, so I said okay. I know. What was I thinking?! I'm just too nice, aren't I?...lol
See you Thursday with another Etsy set. Now who's ready for Santa Claus? :)
(October 9, 2009)
Woo Hoo! Happy Friday! I have 2 new slider sets and a Pandora snowman to share with you today. I am taking orders on sliders, because I've had several request, so please allow a 5 day turn around. Thanks for peeking! :)
My brother, Kenny, arrived last night on the train from San Diego. He recently returned from an under way assignment with the Navy, and now has 4 days off. Yay! We're planning on going to the movies today. Not sure what we're going to see yet, though. Then we're going to relax and just enjoy spending the weekend together.
Have a wonderful weekend!
(October 6, 2009)
Hello :) Sorry to be so quiet this week. My kiddies are on Fall break. And between play dates, sleepovers, trips to the skate park and play places, I've just been so busy. Not to mention all the event planning I've been doing for my Girl Scout troop. Plus, I've been busy with orders, too. Whew! And it's only Tuesday. Oh, man, I'm so ready for Friday...lol
The weather's been wonderful in the 70's and 80's at times, breezy and it really feels like Fall. Yay! Finally! I've been wearing pants for the past 3 days and it feels really weird. You know. The last time I wore pants was in April. Yeah! Can you believe it? That's when it heated up for us and it's been a non-stop heatwave since. I plan to get our Halloween decorations out this week and make things all spooky around here. Hey! You know what I did? I saved the cornstalks from the corn we grew this Summer so I could use them as decorations this Fall. I think the kids are going to get a kick of seeing them by the front door with our pumpkins in front. Oh, how I love, love Halloween!
At this point, I'm not sure if I'll have any beads this week. I have one more order pending that I haven't started yet, and have a feeling it'll take the rest of the week to finish. But it's all good! :)
Have a wonderful day!
(October 1, 2009)
Is it really October? Wow! This year is flying by! Sorry I never made it to do the free beads drawing yesterday. It was a really crazy day. I worked all morning then had to run and pick up Madison from school. She brought home a friend, who is also in girl scouts, for a play date. Then we went to Mc Donald's with our GS troop for a tour. That was fun and the girls and I really enjoy it, especially, the ice cream treat we received at the end. Yummy! When we got back my co-leader came over and we worked on a project together for another 3 hours and didn't finish till almost 9:00. So by then, I was just too tired to do the drawing, so please forgive me. :)
I have 2 new smaller sets and an adorable penguin pendant to share with you today. I'm having fun with holiday beads and am hoping it's not too early. I do still have the snow girl sets from Tuesday, so I'm thinking maybe I am. So next week I'll work on something different. Not sure what yet, but I'm sure I'll think of something.
Have a great day!
